Richie McEvoy

2008 was a frustrating year for Richie although he did have some good results towards the end of the season. However, as he did not win enough money to earn his European Tour Card for 2009. He attended the Final Stage Qualifying School at the PGA Golf de Catalunya in Spain playing 6 rounds between 13 and 18 November. Unfortunately, he only just missed earning his Tour Card Category 11 by one shot with the cut being at 6 under par. Richie finished joint 33rd at minus 5 scoring 71, 67, 75, 67, 72 and 71 - a total of 425 over the six rounds. He now has European Tour Category 14 and Challenge Tour Category 7 for the 2009 season and may be eligible to enter certain competitions on the Challenge and European Tours.

2009 November Richie has now completed his tournaments in the European Challenge Tour and finished a very creditable 9th position. This means that he has qualified to receive invitations to play in the PGA European Tour in 2010.
